Long term stability of geological environments and their installations : - Underground storage facilities: Storage of high activity and long-lived radio-active waste - Transport of radio-nuclides in the form of colloids - Storage and sequestration of the CO2 - Storage and recycling of the co-products from the industrial activities (toxic metals, slag from blast furnaces) and incineration of waste - Management and use of the sub-soil as a space resource - Storage of energy - Development of underground space
- Underground storage facilities
- Production of mineral fuels, soil, materials
- Construction, civil engineering, and public works
- Mining engineering
- Development of two software tools from the Hytec platform, started in 2007, in collaboration with EdF. On the one hand, it is a tool devoted to the prediction of the depth of contaminated concrete in the containment of nuclear power plants and, on the other, a tool devoted to the management of the filters of the primary cooling system of nuclear power plants (collaboration with Transvalor)
- Partnerships with Andra and ISRN on the feasibility of the underground storage of high level, long-lived waste
- Collaboration within the Biogeoprospective Group of laboratories : projects on the simulation of the evolution of a site geological due to erosion
- Development of underground space : collaboration with LTF and BRGM on the 3D modelling of alpine region between the Massif of Belledonne and the western Vanoise
Software for assistance in the management of the fluid purification systems (primary and secondary systems of a nuclear unit)
Hytec platform : taking chemical reactions into account, modelling of transport of reagent materials
Characterisation and experimental resources : - Microscopy resources : scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometers, electronic micro-probe and ionic micro-probe - Petrophysical equipment (porosimeters, permeameters) - Equipment for soil and rock mechanics - Equipment associated with the study of the mechanical and hydraulic fragmentation of rocks - Water analysis laboratories
