MINES ParisTech - CBIO

Centre for computational biology

Presentation

The CBIO is a research centre common to Mines ParisTech and ARMINES.

Since 2008, it has also been one of the mixed-unit teams common to Mines ParisTech, the Curie Institute and INSERM U900 (French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) dedicated to epidemiology, bioinformatics and the systemic biology of cancer.

Its research focuses on the development of mathematical methods and algorithms for the post-genomic era. In particular, it uses probabilistic models and statistical learning methods to process and analyse the data produced by high-output technologies.

The Centre’s long-term objective is to understand, simulate and predict biological phenomena and contribute to the development of new therapies, particular for cancer and malaria.
